Let your friends, family, co-workers, and personal contacts know why you are raising money for cancer patients your reason for riding, walking or running in the event. Everyone has a story – don’t be shy about sharing your own.
Compile a list of all of your contacts, including businesses you frequent, for example your hairdresser or barber, veterinarian, dry cleaner, mechanic, bakery, etc. Make the ask, “will they please help you reach your fundraising goal to support cancer patients in financial need while they receive treatment?” Keep copies of your Cancer Fund Fact Sheet on hand.
After you set up your fundraising page, share it via email, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Share information with your company employees if permitted. Include the Bike for Cancer web site address in your signature line – www.bikeforcancer.org
Set a high, but not impossible goal and share it with everyone!
Check with your company to see if matching gifts are offered. Ask all of your donors if they have a matching gift program at their company.
Host a Team Fundraiser with a group of like-minded individuals! Some great ideas – at home Sip & Paint, Guest Bartender Night at your favorite venue, themed Dress Down Day at Work, Corn Hole or Horseshoe Tournament/BBQ, or Lottery Tree Raffle. Get your Company Involved – Inform your HR department or community coordinator about the Bike for Cancer and proudly display your corporate logo.
